Founded in 1977, Emilia Romagna Teatro Fondazione (Emilia Romagna Theater Foundation) is one of the seven Italian National Theaters.
Strongly rooted in the Emilia-Romagna Region, it is mainly active in the field of prose, dedicating space also to dance. It is based in Modena but, in addition to the Teatro Storchi and the Teatro delle Passioni, it also operates in the other two production sites – Teatro Bonci in Cesena and Arena del Sole in Bologna – and in the theaters managed by Vignola and Castelfranco Emilia.
While hosting in its theaters the best proposals on the national scene, ERT is first of all a theatrical production center, with more than 120 outfits.
With great attention to the new and to the stresses that arise from the territory, ERT carries out its activity by keeping a double glance on the theater world, on the one hand to the creative needs making sure that they can find a place to work in freedom, from ‘other to make the viewer find correspondence and involvement in his meeting with the artistic production.
