What do a little kid and a world leader have in common? Are there any heads of state capable of throwing tantrums among the shelves of a supermarket? Or screaming furiously until they get what they want? If we observed a child and a grown man in a suit sitting next to each other talking nonsense, we would hardly notice any differences. Of course, one of them has a say while the other has to do whatever he is told. BullyBully offers the audience a dual vision of the clash between two great forces that eventually learned to reach a middle ground: the political world in a childlike setting and childishness in serious and powerful adults. BullyBully is a children’s musical (like West Side Story) that features two performers, lots of songs, entertaining arguments and a happy ending.
Maas is a company that is part of Rotterdam-based Maas theater, with performers working under the artistic supervision of René Geerlings. Maas creates theater and dance experiences for children, adolescents, young adults and their families and friends. This very eager, bold and vulnerable audience is always at the center of their performances, programs, training programs and artist development projects.
