All About Adam

A show by Giuliano Scarpinato

Age group: 14+

All about Adam is a turbulent journey into the new territories of masculinity: an attempt to trace clues and reconstruct the pieces of a language. It will start by talking about the family and continue with other topics such as films, TV, politics, sports, comics and cartoons, alternating between real and mythological figures. These reenactments will be entrusted to the performer’s body and will take place in an environment full of sounds that consists of excerpts from films, archival news broadcasts, songs, political forums, and excerpts from field interviews. The resulting performance will be a physical and aural narrative on the history of masculinity from the 1970s to the present, but also a proposal for a new code of masculinity, which needs to be rebuilt on top of the ruins of a legacy that has spoken very little to this day.
